Nicole Arlyn movie list
Nicole Arlyn was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island. Her very first acting role was at the age of six months as the crying baby in the cult film, Pot Luck directed by Philip Marshak. She studied at Universite Sorbonne in Paris where she was the lead actress in the short experimental film, Femme de Versaille which was shot in the garden of the Palace of Versailles and directed by Andre Duclos. Returning to New York from Paris, she studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. After the Playhouse, she worked in numerous off Broadway productions and made several indie films including Blixa Bargeld Stole My Cowboy Boots with Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Flushed directed by Carrie Ansell, which screened at Slamdance Film Festival.
Nicole then moved to Los Angeles where she continued to study the craft of acting with Susan Peretz (Dog Day Afternoon) at the Third Street Theatre. She was soon cast in Clay Pigeons directed by David Dobkin playing opposite Joaquin Phoenix, and also starring Vince Vaughn, Janeane Garofalo, and Georgina Cates. Some other film roles include Frogs For Snakes directed by Amos Poe playing opposite Barbara Hershey (also starring John Leguizamo and Debi Mazar), The Wedding Planner directed by Adam Shankman with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey, Chinese Whispers directed by celebrated British actress Sophie Ward, Lunch Break with renowned Greek director Panos Koronis starring opposite Alex Sol (American History X), Greasewood Flat (which was screened at the Rome Film Festival) with award winning director Susan Brigham and Golden Globe nominee Irene Bedard, and Brooklyn Bound directed by Rich Devaney with Tommy Guiffre, David Zayas (Dexter), and Dean Winters (Oz), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival to sold out audiences.
In Los Angeles she was one of the founding members of The Space Theater, where she wrote, directed, and acted in numerous productions. Some theatre credits include Strindberg's Miss Julie, Lanford Wilson's Home Free, Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending, The Smile, John Patrick Shanley's Savage in Limbo, Thomas Jane's Suckerfish, Shakespeare's As You Like It, Lance Lane's Roy's Coffee Shop and Love, Sex, and the IRS. Recent films include, Papow directed by Kirk Farrington, and New York Nocturne directed by prolific actor Richard Edson (Stranger Than Paradise, Platoon).
Nicole has performed in a one woman show, In Search of Anna Magnani in Rome, Italy. She is also wrapped on production on the film The Fencestitute, directed by Susan Brigham, co-starring Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy, Frozen River, Batman Begins) and Jake LaBotz (Rambo, Ghost World, Animal Factory). Nicole lives in New York City, where she is studying under the great Susan Batson.
